Sometimes, creativity comes from the craziest place.
I created a book cover for The Memory Jumper and fell in love with the process. Then I moved to Photoshop and wanted to make a poster for promotional purposes.
I found a tutorial on Envato Tuts and used the general idea to create my own manipulation. I am SO happy with how it turned out! Here it is.
In my book, Mason tells Adelaide (a very alone, very dejected Rapunzel-like character) that there’s a whole universe inside of her. I really liked that quote, so I expanded on it here.
When I saw the tutorial with the girl’s profile surrounded by stars and planets, I knew this would be a great Sunday afternoon project for me.
I had so much fun creating the image above, so I tried to make one with myself. I came up with two because I couldn’t decide which one I liked better.
If you want to create really cool promo material for your book, or if you’re a graphic designer like me and have always wanted to figure out how people make those book covers with multiple images brushed into a person, look up this amazing photo manipulation tutorial!
