WHAT BROKEN LOOKS LIKE

Broken looks like:

Falling asleep to the rhythm of

Gasps through tears.

Sitting in bed,

Drowning in the darkness,

Lifting your hands to the heaven

Because in and of yourself

You can’t,

You just can’t.

//

Broken looks like

Taking late night walks

Under the stars,

Reminding yourself you’re

Really small

And it’s okay

The stars are still there.

Freezing in place,

Heart beating like the

Hooves of a scared horse,

Surrounded by people but

Too scared to let them know

You’re dying on the inside.

Scared looks like

Keeping it all inside,

But sharing the shards

When the time is right

To raise other people from the dead.

//

Broken looks like

Taking someone else into your arms,

Someone as broken as you are,

And reminding them that

You’ve cried yourself to sleep too;

You’ve begged for help too;

You’ve walked through the darkness too.

Being broken is smiling when you’re dying inside.

//

It’s okay.

We’re all a little broken.

INFP who names inanimate objects, loves to laugh, and is a proud old soul. You can often find her planning out her next crazy project, hugging books, or telling stories about her day that *may* be a little exaggerated.
